As a busy wife, working mom, and daughter to aging parents, I have witnessed firsthand the challenge aging presents for seniors and families. I have seen frustration build when hearing, cognition and mobility are impaired. My mom could no longer attend medical appointments on her own as she couldn’t hear what was being said, understand the terminology, or remember what follow up was required. She was also no longer comfortable driving outside of town for appointments with specialists. She was progressively overwhelmed by her “computer” (i.e. everything to do with technology), bills, taxes, and other general tasks around her home. While I am lucky enough to live close to my mom, I often wondered – how do families manage if the “adult kids” live far away? Or, there are no family or friends they can rely on to assist?
Why Golden Heart?
The name Golden Heart Family Concierge comes from my great-grandmother’s fine china – Limoges Golden Heart. It was handed down for three generations – but “too precious” (22 karat gold embossed hearts) to ever be used. My mom gave it to me under the condition I would use it. “Put it in the dishwasher – enjoy it!!” It dawned on me that seniors these days are like my wonderful china. They want to get out, be productive / get things done, and enjoy time with loved ones. It’s my soul’s purpose to help make that happen.
I had an epiphany one morning during my hike with my dog Roxy.

I could put this all together to be the “local daughter” for seniors and families in need!!!
